How we collect, use, retain and protect personal information when you visit our website or contact ASQE.

1. Scope and responsible party
This policy applies to personal information processed through the ASQE website, enquiry forms, email communications and related business interactions. Augustine Software Quality Engineering (ASQE) determines why and how this information is processed and acts as the responsible party for these activities.
We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable South African law.
2. Information we collect
When you submit a website form, we may collect your name, company, email address, telephone number, selected service and the information included in your message. We may also receive ordinary technical information generated when you use a website, such as browser, device, IP and basic usage information, where relevant to website security and operation.
Please do not include unnecessary identity numbers, financial information, health information or other sensitive information in a general enquiry.
3. Why we use your information

We process only information that is adequate, relevant and reasonably necessary for the stated purpose. We do not use a service enquiry for unrelated direct marketing without an appropriate lawful basis.
4. When information may be shared
Information may be shared with authorised ASQE personnel and service providers that support website hosting, email, communications, security, customer administration or service delivery. We may also share information with technology partners or distributors when necessary to respond to a quotation or service request, or where disclosure is required by law.
Service providers acting for ASQE are expected to process information only for the authorised purpose and to apply appropriate safeguards. If information must be processed outside South Africa, ASQE will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer meets applicable POPIA requirements.
5. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the enquiry, business relationship, legal obligation, dispute or record-keeping purpose. Information that is no longer required will be deleted, destroyed or de-identified in a manner appropriate to the record and system.
6. Security
ASQE applies reasonable organisational and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, interference, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but suspected compromises are assessed and handled in line with applicable legal requirements.
7. Your POPIA rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether ASQE holds personal information about you, request access, ask for inaccurate or outdated information to be corrected, request deletion where ASQE is not required to retain it, or object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator if you believe your personal information has been processed unlawfully.
8. Cookies and external links
The website may use essential or limited analytical technologies to support operation, security and performance. External websites linked from ASQE, including social-media and news platforms, apply their own privacy practices; ASQE does not control those external policies.
